Platform engineering and DevOps

Local environments that match production, pipelines that catch problems before review, and deploys that are boring.

What you get

  • DDEV local environment, identical for everyone
  • CI pipeline: build, validate, artifact deploy
  • Per-branch review environments
  • Visual regression in CI
  • Deployment to Pantheon, Acquia or Platform.sh
  • Self-hosted Docker and Traefik infrastructure
  • Backup and restore procedure, tested

A deploy should be the least interesting part of a week. Getting there means a local environment that matches production closely enough to be trusted, a pipeline that runs the checks a reviewer would otherwise run by hand, and a review environment per branch so feedback happens before merge.

We work on both models: managed platforms such as Pantheon, Acquia and Platform.sh, and self-hosted infrastructure. This site runs on the second kind — Docker Compose and Traefik on a single box behind Cloudflare, deployed by a script you can read in a minute.

Questions we get asked

Managed platforms are worth their price for most organisations: the hosting-specific knowledge is real and the support matters at 3am. Self-hosting makes sense when you have particular data-residency or cost constraints and someone who will own it. We will give you the honest comparison for your case rather than the one that suits us.
